We said Hello..Now Wave Goodbye to Stay Beautiful
(July 28, 2009)
SIMON PRICE's legendary glam-punk-electro party STAY BEAUTIFUL, named “Best night out in London” by Bizarre magazine, says goodbye this month after a run of over eight years - quite an achievement in a world where most club nights are lucky to last six months. It’s sure to be an emotional occasion.

On Saturday 1st August, at The Purple Turtle in Camden Town, Price - with co-DJs TONY MAGGS, DAVID RYDER PRANGLEY and CHERRY FOXXX - will play the very best in sleazy glam, hi-voltage electro, glitter rock, f*cked up disco, 77 punk, shouty grrrl music, alternative anthems and pop trash from Bowie to Peaches, Dresden Dolls to Duran Duran, Pistols to The Gossip for their flamboyant, dressed-up crowd for the final time.
Our live band - just confirmed - are the awesomely cool all-girl trio AN EXPERIMENT ON A BIRD IN THE AIR PUMP ( http://www.myspace.com/anexperimentonabirdintheairpump ) whose primitive, minimalist voodoo rock’n’roll has seen them described as “so raw they make The Horrors sound like Savage Garden”, and made them one of the most talked-about new bands in London right now.
There’s a happy hour (2 for 1 on selected drinks) between 9pm and 10pm, cheap admission before 10pm, ’Jesus Juice’ cocktails at £8.50 a pitcher, and further details to be announced, including prize giveaway and the now-notorious Watering Can Song...
