
The Surface Festival returns to the Purple Turtle for second round of heats of the UK wide unsigned band competition. The heats take place during May and June so come down and see some excellent bands battle it out for some top prizes!
They are now vetting applications for the Surface Unsigned Festival 2009. In 2009 Surface Unsigned and our sponsors are on hand to provide industry showcases, recording and production deals, professional photo shoots, £30K in cash and endorsements and much more. Due to the very high amounts of applications they receive each year, they strongly advise that your application form for the 2009 Festival reaches them by 31st December 2008.
The Surface Unsigned Festival is the only national live music event that brings unsigned bands and artists to the attention of all aspects of the music industry. Surface Unsigned is a festival of new music held throughout the country in aid of discovering and promoting new talent. The Festival is the largest event of its kind and is a major event in the unsigned music calendar.
In 2009 events will be held in the Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and London making Surface Unsigned the biggest event of its kind. In 2009 there will be over 350 nights of live music involving over 1,200 bands from across the UK.
In 2010 events will be held in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh), the Northwest (Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds), the Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham), Avon (Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham), South Wales (Cardiff, Swansea), the Southeast (London, Reading, Brighton) and the South (Bournemouth) making it the biggest event of its kind. In 2010 there will be over 650 nights of live music involving over 2,000 bands from across the UK.
Surface Unsigned has teamed up with some of the largest names in the industry to develop alternative ways for bands to gain exposure, develop their fan base and attain success. We are working in association with Marshall, Kerrang, Zildjian, Tama, Evans, Planet Waves, Ashdown, D’addario, PMT, Univibe Audio, Music Live and Oxjam.
